Today I visited the Katherine Low Settlement in Battersea. This long-established charity has a wide range of community projects dedicated to tackling poverty and to building stronger communities. I was struck by the strong ethos of partnership working and the desire to do preventative work which supports people to thrive and contribute to their community. The crèche was cheerful and warm and the lunch club busy and chatty. Aaron Barbour is the Director and he has given the organisation a renewed sense of purpose and direction. It was an inspiring place and I would recommend a visit to anyone who either needs support, has a mind to volunteer, or is a local health care professional who may wish to let their patients know about the services and support on offer.
