Exercise on Refer​​ral​​​

The service offers su​​pport and advice for people who have a health condition that could be treated by exercise. The programme is delivered in 7 local leisure and sport centre's across Wandsworth. A specially trained exercise instructor will meet with you and discuss your condition, they will de​velop a programme for you lasting up to 12 weeks that will increase your confidence in the gym and fitness, and help with any specific medical issues or conditions. The cost of the programme is £2 per session. To access the programme book an appointment with your GP to discuss whether it would be suitable for you and they can refer you directly (referral is via your healthcare professional only at this time).

Active Lifestyles is a programme of low cost adult physical activity classes and sessions. Activities take place in community venues across the borough, and your first class is always free. The activities are perfect for people who want to start being more active, they include Tai Chi, Zumba, Pilates, swimming lessons, 50+ keep fit classes, and Kickboxing. Beat It is a fun and educational FREE programme all about getting active, trying new activities and leading a healthy lifestyle. The sessions are for all children aged 5-18 years who are above a healthy weight, and a parent/carer must attend with them too, ensuring that the lifestyle changes learnt at Beat It are kept up at home and after the programme too. Sessions range from Dodgeball to exploring what's in popular drinks available from the supermarket, and give children and young people the opportunity to make informed decisions on healthy food choices in the future.

​Free help, support, advice and access to stop smoking medications, including NRT. This is a free service for smokers who live, work or are registered with a GP based in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

This service is free, confidential, effective, and greatly increases one's chances of giving up smoking for good. One-to-one appointments are held at doctors' surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and community centres.

The Wandsworth and Richmond Assessment Point (WRAP) supports vulnerable (eg older, disabled, low income) Wandsworth residents to remain warm and well in their homes.

The service usually involves a home visit and advisors can help with the following:

  • Advice on utility bills and how to find cheaper tariffs
  • Advice on ways to stay warm for less including information on heating controls and tackling mould and condensation
  • Provision of free small measures such as CO detectors, radiator reflector panels and water saving devices where eligible
  • Referrals for government funded heating and insulation grants (if available)
  • Referrals for adaptations such as grab rails
  • Referrals for benefit checks
  • Referrals for Home Fire Safety Visits and free smoke alarms
  • Referrals for health and wellbeing services such as the Expert Patient Programme and Falls Prevention
